About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Security Workflows team at Semgrep, you will be instrumental in building customer-facing, cross-product integrations. These integrations are designed to simplify the process for application security teams to prioritize, triage, and remediate vulnerabilities at scale. Your work will involve creating notifications, automating workflows, and developing reports that showcase the time savings for teams, among other innovative solutions.
Application Security teams face the challenge of managing thousands of vulnerabilities daily. Your role will be crucial in enabling these teams to focus more efficiently on the most impactful vulnerabilities first. By building integrations with systems where developers are already active, you will help streamline the security process, making it faster and more effective.
Responsibilities
- Work on major product initiatives from user research through design, implementation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to create security tools that our customers love.
- Architect systems for storing and maintaining sensitive data, and surface this data back to users to help them understand their security posture.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure continual, high-availability operation of services using modern site-reliability practices.
- Advise and mentor other engineers through code reviews, planning discussions, and technical documentation.
Ideal Candidate
- You have at least 4 years of experience in writing production software and building web applications.
- You are proficient in technologies such as Python, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.
- You are excited about building for customers, learning their needs, iterating fast, and seeing your solutions solve their core problems.
- You possess excellent and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written.
