Grammarly is seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering team in Berlin, Germany. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, enabling our teams to leverage data for analytics and machine learning at scale.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Build Data Pipelines and Infrastructure: Design and implement optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from a variety of sources.
- Design Data Models: Develop and improve data models, storage structures, and tools to enhance data discovery and accessibility.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Machine Learning and Analytics teams to streamline data delivery and processing.
- Address Data Challenges: Tackle data latency and scalability issues, ensuring reliable data refresh for downstream processes.
- Enhance Developer Productivity: Contribute to our stream data processing frameworks to improve developer productivity and self-service solutions.
- Mentor Team Members: Guide and support other back-end engineers, fostering their growth and development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in building and owning data pipelines using technologies like Spark, Flink, Kafka, or Kinesis.
- Strong background in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience in designing database objects and writing relational queries.
- Familiarity with system design and building internal tools.
- Ability to lead design reviews and drive changes in data storage and access.
