Overview
Neon is an innovative software development company focused on building open-source, cloud-native PostgreSQL solutions. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Team Lead for our Control Plane team, based in Amsterdam. This role involves leading a distributed team of six engineers and collaborating closely with leadership and product managers to drive the roadmap and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage: Guide a team of six distributed engineers across Europe. Remove productivity obstacles and foster a high-performing team environment.
- Technical Oversight: Participate in technical design and code reviews. Ensure high standards of code quality and handle technical debt efficiently.
- Strategic Planning: Work with leadership to define the roadmap. Implement tools and processes to minimize time to market and handle tech debt.
- Coaching and Development: Support the career development of team members, enhancing their performance and technical skills.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 3 years in an Engineering Management or Team Lead role, with a total of 5+ years in backend development using languages like Golang, Rust, C++, and Python.
- Skills: Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub CI/CD, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and scale remote distributed teams. Strong coaching skills and high emotional intelligence.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills.
