Job Description
As a Solutions Engineer at Neon, you will play a crucial role in developing solutions to customer problems in the application deployments space. You will serve as the technical interface for prospective customers and partners, showcasing the capabilities and benefits of Neon's serverless Postgres service. This is an individual contributor role with the potential to evolve into a leadership position within our Solutions Engineering organization.
About Neon
Neon is a multi-cloud serverless Postgres service designed to enhance developer productivity in the cloud. By separating compute and storage, we allow them to scale independently, keeping costs low during development and simplifying production deployment. Our product includes features like database branching, enabling instantaneous database copying at any point in its lifecycle, making it ideal for modern development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Solutions: Understand the technical needs and architecture of prospective customers and partners. Clearly communicate how Neon's database as a service can meet those needs.
- Solution Demonstrations: Create and deliver compelling product demonstrations to showcase our serverless Postgres service. Be open to learning new tools to demonstrate how Neon integrates with various application development frameworks.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with product development teams to provide prioritized feature requests based on customer interactions, helping to shape the product roadmap.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL).
- Hands-on experience with modern developer tools and services (e.g., Node.js/Next.js, Prisma/Drizzle, Vercel/AWS/Azure).
- Demonstrated success or strong interest in solving technical issues through proof of concepts.
- Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience in solutions engineering or product management is preferred.
