Job Overview
Neon is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Software Engineer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that PostgreSQL runs smoothly on the Neon cloud platform. This involves contributing to various parts of the system, including:
- The interface between PostgreSQL and the storage system.
- The interface with the Neon control plane and monitoring.
- The open-source PostgreSQL project and its ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design and implementation of our Postgres features.
- Write low-level systems code.
- Deploy changes to a farm of 500k+ Postgres instances.
- Participate in on-call rotation and drive operational excellence.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of production experience in software engineering.
- Experience with developing Postgres features and/or extensions.
- Experience with maintaining and developing large production systems.
- Passion for building systems software, performance engineering, and distributed systems.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride.
Preferred Skills
- Some experience with Rust.
- Experience with open-source projects and public development.
