About the Role
Pinterest is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead our Big Data Platform initiatives. This role involves building and scaling frameworks and infrastructure to handle petabytes-scale datasets, crucial for our big data and ML/AI applications. You will be working with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Spark, Ray, and Flink, and your work will directly impact the way millions of users interact with our platform.
What You'll Do
- Lead the strategy and technical direction for Pinterest's data infrastructure.
- Build and scale data infrastructure frameworks to support large-scale data processing and machine learning applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support business-critical use cases.
- Provide thought leadership on data processing and storage, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and speed at scale.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of the team.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of industry experience with a proven track record in technical excellence.
- 5+ years of experience in building and supporting large scalable Kubernetes or big data platforms.
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure, big data, and ML technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, Scala, and Python.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS technologies.
Location and Workplace
This role is hybrid, requiring in-office collaboration approximately 1-2 times per month. The position is based in the United States, allowing you to be situated anywhere in the country.
Salary and Equity
The salary range for this position is $193,960—$398,983 USD per year, and it includes eligibility for equity.
