About the Role
Join Pinterest as a Machine Learning Intern and immerse yourself in the world of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This internship is designed for Master's students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges. As an intern, you will be part of our engineering teams, working on projects that drive Pinterest's mission to inspire people worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Research and Development: Engage in cutting-edge research in machine learning and artificial intelligence, applying your findings to solve Pinterest's unique challenges.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to build intelligent, data-driven models.
- Coding: Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code using languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Problem Solving: Use machine learning, natural language processing, and graph analysis to tackle modeling and ranking problems across discovery, ads, and search.
- Project Management: Independently scope and solve moderately complex problems, taking ownership of your tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python) or one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLFlow).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to solve open-ended problems and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Work Environment
Pinterest offers a flexible work model known as PinFlex, allowing employees to work remotely or from one of our offices in San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Seattle. This role may require occasional in-person collaboration, so being within a commutable distance to one of these locations is preferred.

Salary
The internship offers a competitive salary of $10,000 per month.
