Job Overview
Join the Creative Play Lab at the LEGO Group as a Senior Systems Engineer in Boston, MA. This role is pivotal in leading our newly developed team within the Play Engineering organization, focusing on product innovation and design. You will be responsible for leading global multi-functional engineering teams to develop and integrate complex systems that deliver exceptional play experiences.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical leader for global engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Lead the design and strategic development of systems involving microelectronics, mechanics, firmware, and other software components.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, manufacturable solutions at scale.
- Ensure all solutions meet end-user needs and comply with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 6 years in Systems/Project Engineering roles, preferably in high-volume hardware/software development environments such as consumer electronics, robotics, or automotive.
- Demonstrated leadership in multi-functional team settings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in system-level decision making.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of handling both internal and external collaborations effectively.
Location and Workplace
This position is based in Boston, MA, with an initial placement at our office on Boylston St, Back Bay, before relocating to a central office by the end of 2026. The role follows a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility with an average of 3 days per week in the office.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $109,000 - $163,000, with eligibility for bonuses based on performance and company goals. Additional benefits include disability insurance, enhanced family care leave, life insurance, access to wellness programs, and a generous colleague discount.
