Role Overview
As a Robotics Systems Engineer, you will be a key member of the Amazon Robotics deployment team, overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment within new and existing fulfillment centers. This field engineering-based role requires proven technical skills related to the deployment of robotic equipment, including work with mechanical, electrical, networking, and software systems during a deployment.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team of 1-5 engineers supporting an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third-party and Amazon-designed robotics equipment.
- Collaborate extensively with third-party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and many other partner teams.
- Develop process documentation and modify existing processes in partnership with project and program managers to drive business performance and sustainability.
- Handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field.
- Experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and/or CAD models to resolve on-site clash issues using 3D clash detection reports.
- Proficiency in standard office software tools and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment.
- Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).
