Your Role and Responsibilities

The Global Sales unit is looking for an IBM Power Systems Site Reliability Engineer, to provide, configure, automate and deploy IBM Power Systems based demonstration environments in support of IBM Technology Zone.

Responsibilities Include

• Planning, installing, configuring and implementing IBM Power Systems and supported Operating Systems
• Planning and Configuration of Power Systems hardware
• Integrate Power Systems and Power System offerings with IBM Technology Zone
• Implementing automation operations where possible
• Collaborating with members of the client and IBM teams to define and execute proofs of concept and Minimum Viable Solutions (MVS)
• Support datacenter critical Technology Zone Power LPARs in regard to OS and security based compliance

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 3 years of experience in Enterprise infrastructure, including experience with IBM Power Systems
• Power System Hardware
• Power System Operating Systems Including AIX, IBM i, Linux (Red Hat), and VIOS
• PowerVM, PowerVC, PowerHA
• Power Systems Hardware Management Console (Physical & Virtual) and Novalink
• Power Systems with Internal and External Storage
• Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff.

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

• Red Hat OpenShift
• Hybrid Cloud Scenarios, Power System On-Prem with PowerVS
• Proof-of-Concept, Proof-of-Technology, Performance, and Scalability Testing Experience
• Power System Modernization experience
• Power Enterprise Pools and Cloud Management Console
