Join Oculus VR as a Software Engineer
Oculus VR, a leader in virtual reality technology, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Redmond, Washington. As part of Meta's Reality Labs Research (RL-R), you will work with a diverse and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to create the future of augmented and virtual reality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Integrate Software: Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, integrate, debug, and test real-time AR and VR software for advanced prototypes and user experiences.
- Build Tools and Infrastructure: Create software, tools, infrastructure, documentation, and other systems that enable research scientists to be more effective and efficient.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions.
- Code Review and Quality Assurance: Perform code reviews to improve software engineering quality and write clean, readable code.
- Problem Solving: Debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize tasks, and get things done with a high level of efficiency.
- Continuous Learning: Embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem-solving and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of work experience in a role coding in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ (or equivalent language) including code maintenance and review.
- Experience with one of the following: Game engine development, AR/VR development, mobile app development, driver, firmware/OS development, or robotics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in driver, firmware, OS, or embedded systems development.
- Hardware bring-up, prototyping, and interfacing with new hardware SDKs.
- Experience with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
- Mobile software experience at both OS and app levels.
- Developing AR/VR applications and working with camera and sensor technologies.
- AI research or development experience.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: €52,000 - €160,000 per year
- Equity and Bonus: Additional compensation through equity and bonuses.
