About the Role

Join Groq as a Software Engineer focused on Developer Experience, where you will be at the forefront of enhancing the suite of APIs used by over 200,000 developers to build fast AI applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our APIs and web applications are not only high-performing but also user-friendly and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: You will write simple, concise, and high-performance code for our APIs written in Golang and our web application in Next.js.
• System Optimization: Performance is a critical aspect at Groq. While we have dedicated performance teams, all engineers are expected to focus on optimizing where milliseconds are spent.
• Attention to Detail: Maintain a high standard for code quality and user experience. This includes making error messages clearer and more actionable.

Sample Projects

• Function Calling and Tool Use: Enhance our inference APIs by adding tool use capabilities and support for new models.
• Self Serve Billing: Develop the ability for developers to create accounts and sign up for our self-serve billing tier.
• Batch Jobs: Create a mechanism for developers to submit batch jobs that run inference workloads asynchronously when capacity isn’t full.

Ideal Candidate

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and available to work onsite in our Palo Alto, CA office.
• Curiosity: A genuine interest in AI and how language models are enabling new use cases across various industries.

Compensation

At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $145,400 to $276,500, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and internal benchmarks.

Location

Groq is a geo-agnostic company, meaning you work where you are. Exceptional candidates will thrive in asynchronous partnerships and remote collaboration methods. Some roles may require being located near our primary sites, as indicated in the job description.
