Software Engineer (Golang) - Global Developer Platform

Your Role

As a Software Engineer, you will:

• Engineer a robust, scalable telemetry ingestion pipeline to provide thousands of Delivery Hero engineers with high-quality and cost-effective observability, ensuring short and infrequent downtimes.
• Collaborate in designing and evolving the system architecture to ensure it meets current needs and can accommodate future growth and technologies.
• Maintain coding standards and participate in code reviews to ensure a high-quality codebase.
• Contribute to the implementation of automated testing frameworks to catch bugs early and ensure software reliability.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in the software and infrastructure.
• Seek opportunities to optimize performance and scalability.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and implementation strategies.

Your Skills

• Experience in Golang, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and understanding how to leverage them for scalable and resilient solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration systems (Kubernetes), facilitating the deployment and management of applications.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders across different disciplines.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in using observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus to monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with the OpenTelemetry framework for instrumenting, generating, collecting, and exporting telemetry data (metrics, logs, and traces) to understand application behavior.
• Ability to employ observability best practices in distributed systems to gain comprehensive insights into complex, multi-service architectures.
