The Role & The Team
As a Backend Software Engineer specializing in Golang at Zalando, you will be a crucial part of our team that manages the edge delivery and protection, ingress, and gateway infrastructure. This infrastructure supports Zalando’s vast service landscape, handling millions of requests daily and processing up to 5 million requests per second during peak events like CyberWeek.
Responsibilities
- Operate, improve, and extend the ingress infrastructure for over 100+ Kubernetes clusters.
- Maintain and develop Skipper, a modern open-source HTTP router and reverse proxy, and higher-level applications built on top of it.
- Work closely with Kubernetes, AWS, and Go to enhance user experience, efficiency, and reliability of our products.
- Drive operational excellence by adhering to design principles such as operations as code, making frequent and small reversible changes, anticipating failure, and learning from operational events.
