Senior Platform Engineer, SRE

About the Role

The Foundations Alliance at HelloFresh is responsible for building the tools, services, systems, and infrastructure that engineering teams across the company use daily. As a Senior Platform Engineer in the Observability team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high reliability and operational standards for business-critical components across HelloFresh. Your work will involve building robust infrastructure and self-service tools to empower HelloFresh engineers to maintain the reliability and performance of their services.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and Build Infrastructure Automation: Develop infrastructure automation at scale for over 1000 engineers, leveraging best-of-breed open-source and managed tools to deliver high-quality self-service observability solutions.
Drive Positive Change: Improve change failure rate, mean time to detect, and mean time to restore metrics.
Consult and Educate: Work with engineers to promote best practices in observability and incident management.

Required Skills and Experience

Observability Tools and Infrastructure: Experience with tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Datadog.
SRE Best Practices: Familiarity with SRE principles, including SLIs/SLOs and incident management.
Cloud Platforms: Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its services.
Container Orchestration: Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with tools like Terraform.
Programming: Experience building highly available and observable systems at scale, preferably in Go or Python.
