Job Description
Adobe is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join the Frame.io team, a part of Adobe, which is revolutionizing the way creative professionals collaborate globally. This role is more than just writing code; it's about crafting products that inspire creativity and enable users to perform outstanding work.
Responsibilities
- Model a Rich Domain: Design and implement data models for the post-production domain, ensuring the Frame.io application remains efficient and stable.
- Contribute to Elixir Applications: Work on one of the largest Elixir applications globally, designing highly concurrent, fault-tolerant systems.
- Feature Implementation: Collaborate with designers, client engineers, and product owners to bring new features to life, providing guidance and writing the code that makes it real.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor fellow engineers, setting best practices and leading the engineering team.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineers.
- Build new features and services in Elixir.
- Update existing features to improve scale or reliability.
- Write solid and scalable code.
- Guide quality improvements through tech brief feedback and code reviews.
What You Need to Succeed
- Extensive experience in designing and developing large-scale web application backend systems.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL or MySQL, including designing SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
- Familiarity with common API and services design best practices.
- Deep experience in system design and implementation, understanding scalability and integration.
- Experience in Elixir or a comparable functional programming language, or a strong desire to learn.
Compensation
The U.S. pay range for this position is $154,000 to $278,800 annually, varying by work location and depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
