Join AMD's Strategic Silicon Solutions System Emulation Team as a Systems Design Emulation Engineer. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing and debugging issues alongside validation, firmware, and IP teams on emulation to meet product development milestones. You will also develop and expand infrastructure to enable increased coverage and testing in a pre-silicon environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute pre-silicon coverage on semi-custom systems using emulator systems.
- Debug and support system issues found in firmware, hardware, or software during pre-silicon emulation.
- Provide root cause analysis and guidance for issue resolution to both internal and external teams.
- Review and plan dependencies, milestones, and deliverables, coordinating with upstream and downstream teams.
- Drive own priorities to achieve business goals and ensure deliverables are on schedule.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience with low-level debug and emulation execution of SoCs and embedded systems.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture and concepts, including proficiency in x86 and ARM architectures.
- Proficiency in Verilog, C, C++, assembly, TCL/TK, Python, and/or other scripting languages.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and independently drive tasks to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with emulation systems debug, including industry-standard emulator systems.
- Technical understanding of Graphics, Display, PCIe, Power Management, or Security/Crypto architecture & design.
- Strong understanding of BIOS and other firmware components, OS (Linux, Windows, Android), and driver-level interactions.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux-based operating systems and technologies.
- Familiarity with Git, GitLab/GitHub, and other software repository frameworks.
Education
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or related fields with 3+ years of industry experience.
Location
- This position is based in Austin, TX, with hybrid/remote flexibility.
Compensation
- The salary range for this position is €124,320 to €186,480 per year.
- You may be eligible for incentives such as an annual bonus or sales incentive.
