AMD is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Staff Verification Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Dublin, Ireland. As a Tech Lead, you will play a crucial role in verifying our next-generation products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Test Plan Development: Write, implement, and review comprehensive test plans to ensure coverage closure for PCI Express/CXL designs using the latest UVM standards.
- Verification Components: Develop testbenches and verification components such as UVCs, models, BFMs, and reusable verification environments.
- Test Case Management: Write, modify, and maintain random and directed test cases and libraries in SystemVerilog/UVM.
- Coverage Analysis: Analyze functional, code, and test plan coverage to ensure thorough verification.
- Assertion Implementation: Implement assertions, checkers, and monitors to validate design functionality.
- Tool Utilization: Utilize in-house and third-party IP/SOC CAD and EDA tools for design verification.
- Methodology Deployment: Deploy industry-leading verification methodologies such as UVM and formal verification.
- Debugging: Triage and debug regressions, reproducing functional bugs found in silicon in simulation and/or formal verification tools.
- Code Reviews: Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing technical leadership and driving projects from start to finish.
Preferred Experience
- Digital Design: Experience in RTL, Verilog HDL, and ASIC design.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in SystemVerilog, OVM/UVM/VMMC, C++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Scripting: Familiarity with Perl, Ruby, shell scripting, and UNIX/LINUX environments.
- Simulation Tools: Experience with VCS, NCSIM, Questa, or other simulators and associated waveform viewers such as Verdi.
- System Architecture: Knowledge of PC system architecture, including PCI Express, Hyper Transport, x86, ARM.
- Bus Interfaces: Understanding of on-chip bus interfaces and architectures such as AMBA AXI, OCP, PIPE.
Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Location
This position is based in Dublin, Ireland, with a hybrid work model allowing for both on-site and off-site work.
