The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in AI/ML and Quantization at AMD, you will be part of a core team of talented industry specialists. You will work with the latest hardware and software technologies to improve the performance of key applications and benchmarks. This role requires a passion for software engineering and a leadership mindset to drive sophisticated issues to resolution.
The Person
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering, possess leadership skills, and be able to communicate effectively. You should be able to work optimally with different teams across AMD, driving complex issues to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products.
- Apply a data-minded approach to target optimization efforts.
- Stay informed of software and hardware trends, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture.
- Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies.
- Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-ups.
- Debug and fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same tasks.
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
Preferred Experience
- Strong object-oriented programming background, preferably in C/C++.
- Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and/or Android OS development.
- Knowledge of software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub), and profilers.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
