Job Overview
EA SPORTS, a division of Electronic Arts, is seeking a skilled Back End Web Software Engineer to join our team for a 12-month contract. This role is focused on supporting the Madden NFL Football franchise, one of the most iconic sports video games in the industry. As a Back End Web Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the backend infrastructure of our web applications, ensuring seamless integration with front-end components and optimizing performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Backend Infrastructure: Utilize Node.js libraries to support and improve the backend systems of our web applications.
- Collaborate with Front End Teams: Work closely with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration of Node.js libraries with client-side applications.
- Data Security and Integrity: Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms to protect data.
- Performance Optimization: Enhance backend code for maximum performance and scalability.
- Codebase Improvement: Continuously improve existing code to enhance performance and maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Angular: Strong understanding of Angular's core principles and best practices.
- Node.js and TypeScript Expertise: Extensive experience in developing applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- RESTful APIs: Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON data.
- Version Control Systems: Familiarity with Git and front-end development workflows such as Agile and Scrum.
- Testing Frameworks: Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, and Chai for unit and integration testing.
- Caching Mechanisms: Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as Redis for performance optimization.
- Additional Skills: Experience with Python, YAML, web accessibility standards, and techniques for creating accessible web interfaces. Familiarity with WebGL and GLSL Shaders is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is based in Orlando, FL, and offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both on-site and remote work flexibility.
