About the Role
Join Spotify as a Backend Engineer on our Backstage Data Platform team, where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of data-driven decision making. This role involves maintaining and advancing a platform that handles over 2 petabytes of data daily, ensuring its reliability, observability, and quality.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain backend and frontend services, and data pipelines that serve thousands of data practitioners.
- Enhance the platform's observability, reliability, and quality tooling stack.
- Collaborate with data engineers and other stakeholders to improve the developer experience and operational efficiency.
- Participate in scaling systems and interacting with engineers, leaders, and stakeholders to define the platform's vision for data observability.
- Engage in hack days, hack weeks, and community events to learn and share expertise.
Who You Are
- You have a strong background in Java and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of systems design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience in Scala and collaborating with data engineers is a plus.
- You excel in breaking down complex technical problems and iterating quickly in a collaborative environment.
- You enjoy working with customers, open-source communities, and internal teams to build robust solutions and foster relationships.
Where You'll Be
- Based in the NYC Metro area, operating within the Eastern Standard Time zone for collaboration.
