About the Role
Spotify is seeking a talented Backend Engineer II to join our dynamic AdTech Team. As part of this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the advertising and messaging technologies that connect millions of brands with billions of fans worldwide. This position involves working closely with our core ads engineers to develop and scale an external facing advertising/marketing API.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers to improve the functionality and user experience of Spotify’s advertiser-facing business management platform.
- Work on high-impact, high-visibility projects with engineers, designers, product managers, and data science teams to build high-quality products from end to end.
- Lead tech initiatives and shape our roadmap, with full backing and resources from Spotify.
- Share your expertise, advocate for best practices, and collaborate with top engineers across the company.
Who You Are
- You have solid experience with backend development and system design, including proficiency in backend languages like Java, Scala, and Python.
- You are skilled in API development, microservices, and distributed systems. Experience with GraphQL, NoSQL, React, and Redux is a plus.
- You understand the balance between delivering products for business success and maintaining high standards in code and system development.
- You thrive in an environment that balances autonomy with collaboration, where you are trusted to influence and drive the success of initiatives.
Where You'll Be
- This role offers flexibility with a remote work option available in North America, within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration purposes.
