Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and on-site. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using Java and the Spring Framework.
- Implement security and data protection measures, including OAUTH and security tokens.
- Work with CI/CD tools like Jenkins to automate deployment processes.
- Manage and deploy applications on EKS Clusters.
- Utilize Forgerock IAM for identity and access management.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform to automate pipelines.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Java and Spring Framework development.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Experience with databases and web development technologies.
- Familiarity with JSON and web services.
- Knowledge of security best practices and tokenization.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment processes.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and EKS Clusters.
- Experience with Forgerock IAM and Terraform is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance industry is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
