Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Web Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is ideal for a seasoned developer with a strong background in Java and Spring frameworks, who is passionate about building scalable and robust web applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Web Development: Utilize open-source web programming languages such as Java to develop and maintain backend web applications.
- API Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations.
- Database Management: Work with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) database systems to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Microservices Architecture: Develop and deploy microservices using containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Cloud Integration: Leverage cloud platforms such as AWS for deploying and managing applications.
- Version Control: Use Git and GitHub for source code management and collaboration.
- Agile Methodologies: Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Documentation: Author and maintain developer-friendly documentation, including API documentation and deployment guides.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in backend web development using modern, open-source software.
- Clearance: Active or expired IRS MBI Clearance is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java (JDK1.8 and 11), Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and RESTful API development.
- DevOps Tools: Experience with Jenkins CI/CD, Maven, and SonarQube.
- Design Patterns: Familiarity with microservices and containerization design patterns.
Preferred Skills
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS and OpenShift.
- Search Technologies: Knowledge of scalable search technologies like ElasticSearch or Solr.
- Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
