Senior Java Backend Developer
Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ / Princeton, NJ
Job Type: Full-time, On-Site
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and microservices development, with expertise in cloud technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that are robust, scalable, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based backend services and microservices.
- Utilize cloud technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift to deploy and manage applications.
- Implement best practices for code development, including code reviews and refactoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Work with various source control tools like GIT.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to team goals.
- Lead and guide junior team members.
Technical Skills
- Strong Java and microservices development experience.
- Expertise in Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
- Experience with the Spring Framework.
- Familiarity with Kafka or other streaming technologies is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems.
- Ability to configure and manage software and optimize processes through automation.
Process Skills
- Experience working in Agile project environments.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with urgency.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Approximately 8 to 10 years of experience in Java and microservices development.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
