Pikkit is redefining the sports betting experience for the next generation of sports enthusiasts. Our platform allows users to seamlessly track and share their bets. By connecting their existing sportsbook accounts to our app, users can access unique historical insights, graphs, metrics, and stats on their betting history, along with live scores and stat tracking for live and upcoming bets. We've integrated a social layer into the experience, enabling users to share their biggest wins and gain insights from top bettors, friends, and strangers alike.
About This Role
As a Backend Engineer at Pikkit, you will play a crucial role in scaling our systems as we continue to grow. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality experiences to our users and ensuring that our app remains performant during high traffic spikes, such as during the Super Bowl or major NFL match-ups. Our tech stack includes React Native, Node, AWS, MongoDB, SST, and more. While we don't expect you to have experience with our exact stack, we do expect strong engineering fundamentals and a keen interest in reliability, scalability, and product experience.
Responsibilities
- Optimize databases and backend systems.
- Scale our platform to accommodate increasing usage.
- Conduct stress testing and run simulations to identify performance improvement areas.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, particularly at the product/application layer.
- Strong experience with MongoDB.
- Initiative and ability to thrive in ambiguous environments; startup or personal project experience is a plus.
- Willingness to wear multiple hats, learn new skills, and take significant product ownership.
