About the Role
Join Medbill AI as a Founding Backend Engineer and be a pivotal part of our mission to revolutionize the healthcare billing industry. As a founding member of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future success and direction of the company. You will work closely with the CEO and the tech team to define and execute our roadmap as we develop our private beta for an official launch later this year.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Own exciting technical projects from beginning to end, including system design, full-stack programming, and feature launches.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and other team members to define and execute the company's roadmap.
- Innovation: Approach cutting-edge technical challenges with curiosity, tenacity, and creativity.
About You
- Experience: You have engineered software for 5 years or more and thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity with a high degree of autonomy.
- Vision: You see the bigger picture and design pragmatic solutions to the most pressing problems.
- Communication: You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Humor: You have 10+ years of GPT4 experience—or, failing that, a sense of humor.
- Bonus: Experience working with healthcare data, complex integrations, web crawling, or AI-powered workflows.
Technology Stack
- Languages: TypeScript for everything (mobile + web, back-end, infrastructure as code, build tools).
- Frameworks: React Native + Tamagui for a single shared front-end codebase for iOS, Android, and Web.
- Database: EdgeDB as the main transactional database.
- Infrastructure: Managed with Docker and Pulumi, deployed on AWS.
- Orchestration: Temporal for asynchronous and long-running jobs.
