This role is pivotal in transforming scientific operations and financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. The position is remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States.

Role Summary

The Oncology Research Unit (ORU) Research Alliances (RA) group within the Discovery Technologies (DT) department is seeking a Data Analytics Associate. This role involves delivering integrated external alliance, resource, and financial management solutions to accelerate the ORU research portfolio. You will leverage external innovation, expertise, and resources, build and strengthen external partnerships, and develop and execute outsourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret data related to external research activities, uncovering trends and insights from complex datasets.
  • Develop and maintain external research request, tracking, and management tools.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to effectively communicate analytical findings.
  • Collaborate with RA team members to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support contract negotiations, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and scenario analysis to inform decision-making and risk management.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to model and predict key business outcomes.
  • Serve as a data analytics process and tool coach for research alliances team members.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in life sciences with 3+ years of experience in a data analytics role within a pharmaceutical/biotech research organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration and work management tools, and data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, DAX, R, or similar programming languages.
  • Solid understanding of drug discovery research, external research partnerships, and financial management principles.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing or supporting external research partnerships.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.

  • Competitive salary range from €74,900 to €124,800 annually.
  • Participation in the Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
