Data Scientist - Generative AI

Job Description

As a Data Scientist specializing in Generative AI at IBM, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our clients' data into actionable insights and business value. You will leverage your expertise in data science to analyze information, communicate outcomes, and collaborate on product development. This role involves working with state-of-the-art open source and proprietary tools, and deploying solutions on flexible and scalable platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Communication: Engage with internal and external clients to understand and define business needs.
• Project Management: Conduct initial project analysis, set up project activities in the data science area, and monitor their delivery.
• Model Implementation: Implement, validate, and maintain predictive, prescriptive, and generative models with a focus on big data.
• Result Evaluation: Evaluate modeling results and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Technology Utilization: Work with both open source and proprietary technologies, including IBM Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.
• Data Advocacy: Assist clients in leveraging their data resources and advocate for data-driven application development.
• Collaborative Environment: Work in an agile, collaborative environment, partnering with scientists, engineers, consultants, and specialists to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to data-driven application development.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 2 years of experience in the data science field.
• Strong understanding of core data science algorithms and statistics fundamentals.
• Proficiency in at least one key programming language used in data science, such as R or Python (Python preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of data manipulation, data mining, and a variety of supervised and/or unsupervised modeling techniques.
• Strong technical and analytical abilities, with a knack for driving impact and growth.
• Problem-solving skills, including debugging, troubleshooting, and designing solutions to complex technical issues.
• Proven record of transforming user requirements into production-ready analytical applications.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences in both English and Czech.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with NLP techniques and generative AI.
• Solid knowledge of one or more cloud computing platforms such as IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS.
• Experience with additional programming languages or other data science tools, such as big data processing frameworks.
