Job Description
Amazon's Fulfillment Technologies is seeking enthusiastic and talented Front End Engineers to help innovate, architect, design, and build highly available, scalable, and real-time applications. As the world’s largest fulfillment operations handling group, we obsess over innovation in simplifying these operations. One of the most challenging aspects of day-to-day fulfillment center operations is improving fulfillment center (FC) associates' experience by building better tools to handle their tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in overall product strategy and UI presentation.
- Be involved in every aspect of the UI for new features – from idea generation, exploring different design options, and technical design through software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.
- Collaborate with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Designers to ensure the best experience for our customers.
- Design highly functional and lovable UI. The software must be well tested and high quality. The UI must be compliant with accessibility standards set at Amazon.
A Day in the Life
As a Front End Engineer in the Safety and Compliance organization, you will play a critical role in achieving our Amazon leadership principles ‘Strive to be the Earth’s Best Employer’ and ‘Success and Scale Bring Broad Responsibility’ by helping deliver world-class systems that ensure safe and compliant processing of inventory through their lifecycle at Amazon. Our systems are cloud-native AWS enterprise web applications supporting a large global user base. Our organization is comprised of multiple teams, each responsible for supporting and delivering key products. Our engineer teams are agile-based, supported by agile ceremonies (daily start-up, grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives).
About The Team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web, or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS experience.
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis) experience.
- Experience with object-oriented design.
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience.
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node.
