About the Role
As the Head of Engineering at Knot, you will lead and inspire a diverse, high-performing engineering team to deliver world-class products and solutions. You will collaborate with the CTO to shape and refine the overall engineering strategy, driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution for Knot’s product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing quality, performance, and reliability in all aspects of engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a diverse, high-performing engineering team.
- Collaborate with the CTO to shape and refine the overall engineering strategy.
- Drive the technical vision, strategy, and execution for Knot’s product roadmap.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in engineering.
- Mentor and grow engineering talent, providing guidance, feedback, and career development opportunities.
- Oversee the recruitment and retention of top engineering talent.
- Manage and optimize the engineering budget.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
What You'll Need
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments.
- Strong technical background with expertise in modern software development practices, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Experience building and scaling complex, high-availability systems and services.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical strategy and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the financial services industry is a plus.
- High adaptability and comfort with the fast-paced, dynamic nature of a startup environment.
- Experience with fintech or payments systems is a plus.
