About Knot
Knot is a pioneering merchant connectivity platform that offers card-on-file switching for numerous online merchant accounts. Our mission is to empower consumers and businesses with connected merchant and banking experiences. We are building a platform that connects merchants to various applications that consumers and businesses interact with daily. Our flagship product allows consumers to instantly update and manage their cards on file with online merchant accounts, such as Netflix or PayPal. We are developing new products on top of our innovative merchant connectivity platform and invite you to join us in building them.

At Knot, we are a world-class team with a majority in engineering roles, focused on building for our customers and the financial services ecosystem. We are based in New York City, at the heart of the financial services industry, and are looking to expand our presence here.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with a team to build, experiment with, and debug user-facing features on Knot’s CardSwitcher and Subscription Management products.
- Develop new products alongside existing features to enhance value for end users.
- Create user interfaces using React/TypeScript on the frontend and Laravel/PHP at the API layer.
- Cultivate a culture of deep care for industry-leading user experience.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of fullstack engineering experience.
- Proficiency in React, Node/Typescript, Laravel/PHP, and CloudSQL (or similar relational database).
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality products at scale.
- Strong attention to detail in visual design and user experience.
- Experience with observability and solving performance issues.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and tackle challenging problems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with product teams.
- Experience with fintech or consumer apps is a plus.
Tech Stack
- React frontend with Styled Components, Material-UI, and CSS modules for styling.
- React-query/Axios for API calls.
- Backend technologies include PHP/Laravel, Typescript/Node, Python, and Socket.io.
- CloudSQL & Redis for data management.
- Hosted on Google Cloud Functions and Kubernetes.
- Tools include Github, Linear, Slack, and Notion.
