Your Role
As the Head of Engineering, you will:
- Lead and develop a remote engineering team of 12-15 members, including backend, fullstack, and frontend engineers, as well as system administration and site reliability engineering (SRE).
- Be responsible for the technical strategy and implementation of our Ruby on Rails-based platform.
- Oversee technical discovery projects and identify technical debt, developing solutions in collaboration with the CTO.
- Ensure outstanding technical infrastructure, software quality, and security.
- Support the continuous development of our product in line with the existing product strategy.
Your Profile
- Experience: Several years of leadership experience in managing engineering teams, ideally in a startup or scaleup.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Ruby on Rails and experience with modern web technologies.
- Languages: Fluent in German and English, nearly at a native level.
- Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to set clear priorities and act decisively.
- Personality: A decisive leader who supports the existing strategy without imposing personal product ideas.
- Work Style: Flexible, adaptable, and self-organized, with a high degree of decision-making freedom.
