About the Role
As the Head of Engineering at Opaque Systems, you will be at the forefront of managing and expanding our engineering operations. This senior leadership position involves direct reporting to the CTO and playing a crucial role in shaping our engineering strategies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Develop and refine processes for planning, reporting, and improving engineering capacity and quality.
- Build and Mentor Team: Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing engineering team aligned with Opaque's vision and mission.
- Grow and Manage Offshore Center: Expand and integrate an offshore engineering center, ensuring high standards of communication and quality.
- Strategic Alignment: Develop and communicate key themes guiding development efforts, aligning with organizational goals and customer needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish baseline measurements for engineering effectiveness and implement a continuous improvement framework.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably within the data, ML, and AI space.
- Strong track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience in establishing and managing offshore engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strategic mindset.
- Passion for data privacy, security, and the application of AI technologies.
