Meta is seeking a Privacy Engineering Manager to lead a critical team focused on Privacy Incident Investigation. This role is pivotal in protecting the privacy and security of over 3 billion users globally. As the manager, you will collaborate with engineering teams to address, mitigate, and learn from privacy incidents and vulnerabilities in applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of skilled engineers specializing in privacy to identify, classify, and remediate privacy-related incidents across Meta.
- Drive investigations and retrospectives to continuously improve Meta's privacy posture.
- Collaborate with Privacy Leadership and engineering leaders to prioritize privacy issues across products and infrastructure, balancing trade-offs and business goals.
- Recruit, retain, and develop top industry talent to expand the team and its impact.
- Develop and track a roadmap for future initiatives, assessing the team’s performance against set goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, privacy engineering, or security engineering, including 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to recruit and manage technical teams, including performance management.
- Strong relationship-building and influence skills across multiple disciplines.
- Coding proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling business-critical incidents in large technical organizations.
- Expertise in Incident Response for applications and/or infrastructure.
- Experience leading highly technical operational teams.
