About the Role
Meta is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead our Investigations team, focusing on Child Safety and Human Exploitation within the Integrity Investigations and Intelligence (i3) department. This role is pivotal in supporting, developing, and scaling the investigations team to identify and respond to threats posed to Meta’s users. The team investigates complex threats, scales investigative insights, and uses innovative research approaches to understand adversarial actor behaviors and deter this activity.
Responsibilities
- Support and Develop the Team: Lead a team of security engineers and analysts in discovering, detecting, investigating, and responding to threats. Focus areas include child safety and human exploitation.
- Strategic Influence: Influence the organization’s vision and strategy, engage the team to develop and deliver specific roadmaps and projects. Ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of work within a fast-paced environment.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Coach, mentor, support, and care for the teams to enable long-term career development and success at scale.
- Operational Excellence: Track operational metrics, key performance indicators, and team health.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with, partner, and influence other teams based on investigative findings and key intelligence.
- Relationship Building: Build, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with internal partners to bolster the team's impact.
- Scalability: Identify and develop areas to scale aspects of our investigations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of work experience, including hands-on technical management.
- 3+ years experience in people management and organizational leadership.
- Experience working cross-functionally with various teams (security, product, engineering, legal, policy, comms).
- Experience in functional or scripting languages (JavaScript, PHP, Python, OCaml, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of or experience in child safety and/or human exploitation issues.
- Experience querying large data sets and SQL.
- Experience working with diverse communities and global teams.
- Demonstrated interest in understanding the intersection of global security risks and technology.
- Experience in crisis management or incident response environments.
