Your Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you are not just a Software Engineer but a tech enthusiast with knowledge of system administration, infrastructure, container technology, application management, and CI/CD automation. You will play a crucial role in the entire process of building, implementing, and running our MicroServices-based Spring Boot applications. In this role, you will actively contribute to innovative solutions and the operational side of teamwork.

You will work closely with your fellow developers, the Product Owner, and the Scrum Master of the scrum team. But that's not all. You will navigate effortlessly through the corridors and connect with colleagues outside your scrum team. Taking initiative and showing ownership are second nature to you. It would be fantastic if you are also skilled in Java development, so you can work with your fellow engineers to improve our services to citizens every day.

Your Work Environment

You will become a member of team 'Kraken'. This team takes care of the international exchange of messages between the SVB and its European sister organizations so that all European citizens can continue to enjoy their social security, such as pensions and family allowances, regardless of where they live or work. This is done as much as possible automatically, without the intervention of a service employee. You build and maintain the microservices that connect the European network to the SVB systems. When human action is needed, it happens in an Angular front-end built by another team.

Requirements

• At least a higher professional education (HBO) level, preferably in computer science or software development.
• At least 5 years of work experience.
• Experience in setting up and maintaining OTAP streets, CI/CD pipelines, for example on Azure DevOps and RedHat OpenShift containers.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery and continuous integration, and terms like Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Hibernate, XML or similar.
• Affinity with Java backend applications and ability to develop.
• Familiarity with tools such as Java 17+, Spring, and Spring Boot, and Maven or ability to quickly master them.
• A keen eye for quality and security.
• Agile working is not unfamiliar to you.
• Good command of the Dutch language in word and writing.
• Flexible and willing to take on other tasks and work if needed within the team (T-Shaped).
