Why This Role?
We are seeking talented individuals to join our Search team as a Member of Technical Staff. This team is responsible for developing state-of-the-art models for information retrieval, focusing on tasks such as generating dense vectors and reranking. You will have the opportunity to revolutionize search experiences by building efficient and precise search systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and improve cutting-edge search models.
- Gather high-quality retrieval datasets and optimize data pipelines for model training and evaluation.
- Work closely with the model serving team to ensure fast and stable inference.
- Collaborate with product teams to develop solutions.
- Engage in research collaborations and publish work in top-tier conferences and journals.
What We Are Looking For
- Proficiency in Python and related ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, TF-Serving, JAX, and XLA/MLIR.
- Experience in training representation models or using text embeddings in downstream tasks.
- Familiarity with information retrieval techniques, such as lexical search and dense vector search.
- Familiarity with autoregressive sequence models, such as Transformers.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Points
- Proficiency in other programming languages, such as C++ or Golang.
- Experience with large-scale distributed training strategies using GPUs.
