About The Team
The Stripe Dashboard is the central hub for merchants managing their Stripe accounts via a web browser. The Dashboard Foundation team is responsible for both the backend and frontend platforms that power many aspects of the Dashboard. This team not only drives new capabilities for merchants but also supports various internal teams by enabling their features.
What You'll Do
As a Full Stack Engineer on the Dashboard Foundation team, you will:
- Develop platform-level capabilities for the Stripe Dashboard, enhancing the merchant experience.
- Support the seamless integration of different pages and products within the Dashboard.
- Empower other Stripe teams by allowing them to focus on their unique objectives without the need to manage platform-level issues.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain software services and platforms that reach millions of users.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and extensibility of our platforms.
- Design interfaces that are future-proof and easy to integrate with.
- Balance business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability in decision-making processes.
- Lead technical discussions and drive sound technical decisions across Stripe.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues across various levels of the stack.
Who You Are
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have at least 3 years of full stack engineering experience.
- Possess expertise in languages like Ruby, Python, or Go, and have frontend experience with React, Typescript, or Javascript.
- Excel in a collaborative environment, working with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to solve significant problems.
- Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference for simple, scalable solutions and the ability to foresee long-term impacts.
- Experience in building scalable, resilient, and observable systems.
- Strong understanding of UX best practices.
- Experience in developing tools and platforms for other developers.
Work Environment
This role offers hybrid work options, allowing for both remote and in-office arrangements. Office-assigned employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in their local office or with users, promoting in-person collaboration while supporting individual flexibility.
