As a Staff Frontend Engineer on the Dashboard Foundation team, you will be at the forefront of building and enabling user-facing experiences that are critical to our merchants and internal teams.
About The Team
The Stripe Dashboard is the primary interface for merchants managing their Stripe accounts. The Dashboard Foundation team is responsible for both the backend and frontend platforms that power many parts of the Dashboard. This multidisciplinary team includes frontend engineers, backend engineers, and designers, and collaborates closely with data scientists, technical program managers, and other internal teams.
What You’ll Do
As a leader on the Dashboard Foundation team, you will:
- Shape the team’s vision and roadmap.
- Guide and mentor peers, leading by example.
- Build platform-level capabilities for the Dashboard’s frontend, enhancing user experience.
- Collaborate with multiple product teams to understand their goals and plan projects that align with the Dashboard’s strategic needs.
- Make effective trade-offs considering business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability.
- Drive sound technical decision-making across Stripe.
Who You Are
We are looking for a candidate who is not only experienced in frontend engineering but also possesses leadership qualities and the ability to make strategic decisions. You should have:
- 5+ years of frontend engineering experience.
- Mastery of TypeScript and React.
- Experience as a technical lead, influencing roadmaps and overseeing complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills, thriving in collaborative environments.
- A preference for simple solutions and intuitive designs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Experience building scalable, resilient, and observable systems.
- Understanding of UX best practices.
Hybrid Work at Stripe
This role offers flexibility in working arrangements, whether in an office or remotely. Office-assigned employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in their local office or with users, while remote employees can work from home, with occasional visits to the office for meetings and events.
Pay and Benefits
- The annual US base salary range for this role is $209,800 - $314,800.
- Additional benefits include equity, company bonuses, 401(k) plan, and comprehensive health benefits.
