Naval Architect

Job Overview

Sunreef Yachts, a leader in luxury catamaran manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Naval Architect to join our team in Gdansk, Poland. This role involves full-time, on-site work, where you will be responsible for designing and optimizing yacht and mega yacht structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Planning: Define initial design assumptions based on project requirements, considering Flag and Code regulations. Draft general plans for yachts and mega yachts, ensuring compliance with classification and administrative regulations, technical equipment specifications, and stability requirements.
Technical Calculations: Perform naval architecture and stability calculations to ensure the safety and performance of the vessels.
3D Modeling: Model vessels in 3D software, with a preference for experience in optimizing hull designs using tools like Rhinoceros 3D and AutoCAD.
Collaboration: Work closely with designers to create new yacht concepts, advising on regulations and nautical requirements. Guide team members from other specializations involved in the project.
Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings to offer technical advice and ensure that client needs are met.
Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with classification society representatives to secure final approvals for yachts.

Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, including executing and coordinating classification documentation.
Education: Higher education in a relevant field.
Skills: Proficiency in Rhinoceros 3D and AutoCAD. Strong communication skills in English and Polish, both spoken and written. Creativity and strong spatial imagination.
Personal Attributes: Excellent teamwork skills, ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure, and a demonstrated commitment to meticulousness and patience.
