About the Role
As a Platform Engineer at Railway, you will be at the forefront of building the infrastructure that powers our platform. This role involves creating system-level software and tools that enable our users to build and scale their applications efficiently. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the core components that make our platform robust and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Build System-Level Software: Develop software from scratch based on first principles to meet unique challenges that are not addressed by standard solutions.
- Master OS Level Primitives: Optimize CPU, memory, network, and kernel usage to enhance platform efficiency.
- Focus on Distributed Systems: Design and implement fault-tolerant, resilient, and scalable services.
- Develop Golang/Rust GRPC Services: Create scalable and performant services to expose complex capabilities to the wider company.
- High Impact Role: Contribute directly to the company culture, trajectory, and outcomes.
