About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role involves improving the reliability, performance, observability, and efficiency of the infrastructure and microservices that support Samsara’s platform. Your work will directly impact our customers and the critical operations they depend on.
Responsibilities
- Develop software and tools for deploying and operating microservices and their supporting AWS resources like queues, buckets, and databases.
- Identify and analyze developer and operator toil, proposing and delivering solutions.
- Drive the evolution of our infrastructure architecture and developer-facing capabilities.
- Provide effective and easy-to-use tools for product teams to measure and improve cost efficiency and service reliability.
- Collaborate with product teams to define SLIs and SLOs and provide the observability tooling to measure them.
- Develop on-call and incident response capabilities to improve service operation confidence across teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Experienced in writing high-quality code in Golang, focused on infrastructure, deployment, and operations challenges.
- 2+ years of experience on infrastructure and/or platform engineering-focused teams.
- In-depth experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience in software development, cloud architecture, and large-scale system operations.
- Proficient with relational databases such as MySQL, caching technologies like Redis, and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
- Familiar with UNIX shell and Linux operating systems.
- Enjoys collaborative work and is motivated by our mission to digitally transform physical operations at scale.
