Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Hasura Cloud

Job Overview

Hasura is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team and help maintain the reliability and scalability of Hasura Cloud. This role is fully remote within the United States, offering a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to a globally distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes, VMs, and bare metal instances to support Hasura Cloud's scalability.
System Reliability: Ensure smooth operation of Hasura Cloud systems and reliable deployment of updates without downtime.
Cloud Expansion: Expand Hasura Cloud to support multiple cloud providers.
Incident Response: Participate in a PagerDuty rotation to handle availability incidents and support service engineers with customer issues.
Monitoring and Automation: Design smart monitoring systems that alert on symptoms rather than causes, and automate repeatable actions.
Debugging and Documentation: Debug production issues across services and document findings to create repeatable actions.
Infrastructure Growth Planning: Plan the growth of Hasura Cloud's infrastructure to support increasing demand.

Requirements

Experience: 4+ years in a similar role, with a strong understanding of system behaviors, edge cases, and failure modes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux, Unix Shell, Terraform, Go, and Python.
Cloud and Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and various cloud providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools like Honeycomb, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Problem Solving: A proactive attitude towards fixing issues and building automation to prevent repetitive tasks.
Communication: Strong asynchronous collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with Hasura and its GraphQL APIs.
Strong SQL fundamentals, particularly with PostgreSQL.
Experience in database management and scaling.

Compensation

Salary: €150,000 - €200,000 annually, including bonus.
Equity: ESOPs available.
