Brothers Michael and Peter Cioni recently left their roles at Adobe and Netflix to launch their second startup together. They are seasoned pioneers in the emerging entertainment technology space.

Who You Are:

You are an exceptional Rust engineer. You don’t just use traits, you’ve written them; You don’t just understand ownership, you architect it; You don’t just know crates, (maybe) you’ve written one or two.

Not only do you know Rust - you know distributed systems and web development. You’ve built applications from scratch, you’ve grown applications into something new, and you’ve worked on really large applications in the past. Together you take your experiences to become a key pillar of what will be a very extensive application.

Given we are a startup, our expectations are high — and you’ll be expected to be an A+ contributor from day two. (We’ll give you a day to get going 😉)

What You'll Do:

• Write, design, and test API’s (both RESTful and graphQL)
• Design SQL and No-SQL database schemas for various features
• Utilize numerous technologies such as NATS, OpenSearch, and Postgres when building a feature to provide an optimized user experience
• Make trade-off decisions to balance the speed of development, the performance requirements of the feature, and the future scalability
• Be a key contributor in establishing consistent and reusable patterns as apart of feature development

What You'll Need:

• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies
• Excellent with standard git, devops, and agile engineering practices
• Experience with backend, async, fault-tolerant, and server-side applications.
• Excellent with backend API design both REST and GraphQL
• Proficiency with relational databases like Postgres/MySQL including design, tuning, and safety
• Proficiency with No-SQL Databases such as Redis/Cassandra/Neo4j
• Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines
