Overview
Waymo, a pioneering company in autonomous driving technology, is seeking a Principal Engineer for its Commercialization team. This role is based in San Francisco County, California, and offers a hybrid work model. The successful candidate will take on technical leadership for part of Waymo One's backend systems, focusing on areas such as vehicle scheduling, dynamic pricing, partner APIs, and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead significant backend efforts, ensuring alignment with product needs and timelines.
- System Architecture: Work across various parts of a complex stack, contributing to both long-term technical foundations and immediate needs.
- Project Management: Handle multiple projects, reprioritizing as necessary to meet changing demands.
Qualifications
- Experience as a technical lead on significant backend projects.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, including non-engineering teams.
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with distributed systems are preferred.
- Experience in transportation or a similar consumer-oriented field is advantageous.
