Overview
Waabi, an AI company pioneering the next generation of self-driving technology, is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for our Mapping team. This role is pivotal in developing high-definition maps essential for autonomous vehicles. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and research scientists dedicated to creating scalable, real-time solutions for mapping infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable pipelines for creating, validating, maintaining, and visualizing HD map data.
- Design and develop metrics and monitoring systems across various map systems.
- Collaborate with map customers to capture requirements and implement new features and intuitive APIs.
- Engineer real-time, scalable, highly-available map serving solutions for a fleet of self-driving vehicles.
Qualifications
- BS or higher degree in EE/CS or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
- Proficiency in Python and experience in either C++ or Rust.
- Experience with 3D geometry and developing production-quality software.
- Open-minded, collaborative team player with a passion for self-driving technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience with geospatial systems and tooling such as QGIS and GDAL.
- Experience with Machine Learning.
- Experience with large-scale data processing systems like Apache Spark or Airflow.
- Experience with automated testing and working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
