Principal Full-Stack Engineer (Java, SQL, Snowflake)

Job Overview

Charles River Development, a division of State Street, is seeking a Principal Full-Stack Engineer to join our team in Cracow, Poland. As a Vice President, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining key modules of our cloud-based investment management platform, State Street Alpha®. This role involves working within an agile scrum team to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the complex needs of our clients in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug complex software enhancements and solutions. This includes modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems.
• Problem Solving: Direct problem-solving efforts for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues.
• Technology Utilization: Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and other related software engineering languages.
• Code Quality: Provide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviews. Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality product.
• Agile Process: Engage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology.
• Mentorship: Mentor and guide Junior Engineers, demonstrating independence in design and development.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics is required. An MS degree is strongly preferred.
• Experience: 8-15 years of experience with the full lifecycle of project development for Java applications in a similar industry.
• Technical Skills: Strong skills in core Java, server-side Java technologies, Spring frameworks, and SQL databases. Experience with frontend technologies like React and Angular, and backend technologies like Kafka and Microservices.
• Financial Services Experience: Experience in developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management is highly desirable.
• Additional Skills: Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud), and Snowflake is a plus.
