About This Role

Web Tech Engineering

The Web Tech Engineering team is responsible for providing a proven software technology platform serving more than 100 public-facing websites of our company under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. These websites serve around 4 million individual visits per month, providing comprehensive data about our investment funds on more than 160,000 product pages, enabling thousands of updates of web content and roughly 10,000 document uploads daily, as well as providing authentication for close to a million registered users globally.

Responsibilities

As a Team Lead, Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be:

• Crafting high-level architectural specifications, including system models, components, and interfaces, as well as ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Mentoring software engineers, providing guidance on best practices, enforcing coding standards, and providing feedback to team members.
• Collaborating with product management on the right units of work to include in each development sprint.
• Designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and services with high-quality standards.
• Participating actively in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.
• In-depth knowledge of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, SOA, MVC) and design patterns (e.g., singleton, factory, observer).
• Experience with Python and/or a JVM based language, preferably Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with software containerization platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in building and passionate about creating great products that tackle big problems.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and time management abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and passion to understand existing systems.

Nice To Have

• Some experience with any of the modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Understanding of typical Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, J2EE, etc.
• Hands-on relational database and SQL skills.
• Strong knowledge in Java and Spring framework, as well as Git, Maven or Gradle, and Jenkins.
