Java Backend/Full Stack Developer, Associate

Responsibilities

• Develop complex enterprise software systems using Java and Angular.
• Collaborate with Researchers, Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Managers, Compliance Officers, and Investment Operations.
• Build solutions for BlackRock and over 100 organizations who use our technology.
• Write testable software every day, with a focus on incremental innovation.
• Work with project managers, technical supervisors, and specialists across the SDLC lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing complex enterprise software systems.
• BA/BS in Computer Science from an accredited university.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and knowledge in modern design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Sybase) and NoSQL technologies (e.g., Cassandra, HBase).
• Experience building web components using Angular or React.
• Knowledge of software development process standard methodologies including TDD, unit testing discipline, agile development, and CI/CD strategies.

Our Hybrid Work Model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
